DistriMeat 2018

#DistriMeat 2018, the future of marketing for meat and meat products

The first edition of #DistriMeat will be the opening event of MEAT ATTRACTION 2018. Domestic and international experts will discuss the future of marketing and distributing meat and meat products.

This second edition of the meat industry’s trade fair, organised by IFEMA and the National Association of Spanish Meat Industries, ANICE, will take place from 18 to 20 September at Feria de Madrid.

The instability in the current distribution scenario naturally affects food supply, including meat and meat products. It is this state of flux that has made a debate on the future of these products necessary.

#Distrimeat2018 will take place on 17 September starting at 2:30pm in the South Auditorium of Feria de Madrid. It’s main goal will be to bring together all the operators involved in the production and distribution of meat as a prelude to the inauguration of the second edition of MEAT ATTRACTION.

This event’s programme will include the presence of renowned international industry experts. Amongst them will be Ethan Sinick, from Shirland Ventures, who will address the future of retail and its implications for the meat industry, and the Retail Director of Arthur D. Little Cristóbal José Colón, who will address the future trends in meat product distribution.

After their presentations a round table will be held. The main topic will be future consumers of meat products. Participants at the round table will include Ikerfel Project Management Director Txema Irasuegui and Kantar Worldpanel Food Sector Director Joan Riera. It will be moderated by ANICE Communication manager José Manuel Álvarez.

Lastly, a series of case studies will be presented on new formats and markets for meat products, in the presence of managers from the slaughterhouses of several of the biggest distribution companies in Spain, such as Francisco Piqueras (Carrefour); Igor Acero Zabala (Eroski); Sergio Román (Alcampo), and Ana Cano, Meat Sales Executive for Consum.
