You could be forgiven for thinking that FITUR takes over the whole of Madrid. From the moment you land at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport everywhere you look you see the branding and advertising arranged by IFEMA for what is certainly one of the biggest travel trade fairs in the world.
Walking through the 12 halls at IFEMA, all of which are completely given over to this awe-inspiring trade fair, you cannot help but let your imagination wander at all of the travel possibilities on display.
A total of 34 UK and Irish companies were represented at FITUR in 2018. Ranging from expert and innovative B2B solutions, unique experiences and dream destinations we visited each stand and had nothing but positive feedback for the trade show.
One of the most exciting bits of visiting FITUR was the atmosphere in each of the halls. There were no bored exhibitors here waiting for hours on end for visitors to their stand. Everywhere we went people were clearly doing business and enjoying themselves while doing it. We are always happy when it takes a while to get to chat to one of our exhibitors because they are so busy with clients.
We stopped for a while at the B2B hosted buyer meeting point and were astounded at the number of meetings taking place during each session. As usual IFEMA ran like a well-oiled machine and the flow of meetings was uninterrupted by unnecessary noise or distraction.
Over our two-day visit one thing was very clear, the slogan of “We are Tourism” was spot on and FITUR was an undeniable success.
